NewsLetter Under 7's 06~07

Larkfield FC U7  Newsletter  - 08/01/2006
Dear Parents,

I hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Year.

We are now back into the swing of football, which should be a very full and exciting year for our young players. I am very pleased with the way the players are developing, and would like to thank all parents and guardians for there support. On a personal note I believe this season has so far been my most enjoyable as a coach.

I will be staying and continuing coaching at under 7 and providing support to the new teams and managers going forward. I am looking for volunteers to help with the teams, so anyone interested please speak to me, at this time I have one new manager in place and it is now essential more people become involved. I attach a copy of poster for new players, if you can get this put up anywhere in the Larkfield area please do so as I am looking for more players as we would like two teams for next season.

Matches and Training
We are now coming into the part of the season where the weather can be bad, please ensure your children arrive suitable clothed and does have a drink. If I am in any doubt regarding the conditions or weather conditions training will be called off, if you are in any doubt please give me a call on Friday nights, please not Saturday mornings as I am normally out by 8.00am.

I have organised a number of friendlies, we will not be able to take all players to these, I can confirm everyone currently playing with me will progress to league football, so please can you bear with us when we do select our squads for each game. If you are not picked for one of the friendlies you will train with us as usual on a Saturday as there are a number of key topics I wish to cover with each player over the coming months.

Each player will needed to be signed to the club to play in the friendlies and can you please complete the attached medical/ signing on form and return to me with £5.00 (Cheques made payable to Larkfield FC) at the Barming Friendly. Fees for each friendly will be £2.00.

21/1/06            Barming (Away) All players required to attend
28/1/06            Vinters (Away)
4/2/06              Leybourne (Home)
18/02/06           Bearstead
1/4/06              Vinters (Home)

I am currently awaiting Snodland to confirm early March

13/14th May Barming Tournament we have requested two teams.

There will be a number of tournaments we will be entering in the summer, as I get conformation of our entries I will confirm the dates. Again with all tournaments we can only name a certain squad size so each player will be advised as to what tournament he has been picked for.

The new season will start around the second or third week of September. I will not be making a decision on the squads for the season until at least June. As a club we do not have a first team and second team, we look for two balanced happy squads, with friends playing together and players who compliment each other.

Attached are kit order forms, players who are now playing will now require shorts and socks, there a numerous items on the kit list but these are the only essential items for the coming games. All orders must be accompanied with the money or cheque made payable to Larkfield football club. Most items require ordering from our supplies and take around four weeks. I would like to place all my orders by the end of the month so this will be the cut off for my next orders.

Soccer Parents
I am leaving this section in from my last newsletter, as I am very pleased a number of you have now got the certificate.

You might not realise it but the involvement of their parents is one of the most vital elements in ensuring the players enjoy their football. Involvement can be in many forms and we want to encourage lots of involvement and support from all parents (and grandparents).

Also positive support for the team makes match day more enjoyable for all concerned including the parents. We aim to play our football on the proper competitive spirit but we are not a win at all cost team. Our key aim is fun and to learn to play positive entertaining football. Although the players will be told to only listen to instruction on position and direction from the coaching team, shouts of support and encouragement is very welcome and a lot of fun! In return we'll try to play some entertaining football.

The FA has a very good website on parent participation in football, which is well worth viewing. You can even earn a soccer parent certificate on http://soccerparents.TheFA.com. Let us know if you achieve the certificate!

If you wish to follow club results you can do so by going to www.yellowjersey.co.uk this will include our results from September, under 8.

Expenses
As people are aware I have over the past six weeks stood back and looked at how we are progressing at this level and following this have spoken to both the Chairman and the club Secretary. I have now ordered at complete new set of shirts for the under 7's, these will be held by the club and must be returned at the end of each game. If you currently have a club shirt at home can you please return it to Tony or me as soon as possible. You will also have noticed that we have now been supplied with more markers and posts, there are also some more new footballs on there way. With the above items and the registration of the teams for next season over recent weeks we have spent over £600.00.
Thank you all for your help collecting the Tesco vouchers, the final total of the vouchers is 4650. We have ordered a target-shooting goal, new goal nets, more footballs and last but not least a captains armband with the remaining few.

Can you please ensure that you do pay your subs each week, Debbie is currently collecting them for us, but if anyone can give her some help please come forward.

Other News
Can all parents with an e mail address please e mail me with there child's name, this helps the club and me get information out to you quickly. This will greatly help as we build towards there first season.

I have started to add information to our web pages and will require a photo consent from signed by each parent to accept or decline. Photo's will not be used by the club other than on the web site or in club brochures. The KM does visit games at the club and do file reports and photos in the publications.

Final notes -The club does have a web site www.larkfieldfc.com here you can get information on the club. Also can you please ensure that at no time do you park or drive on the grass at the school.
