Adam
Larkfield Juniors under 16's has sadly seen some old faces depart from the team, but the Squad has been bolstered by the signing of several new players from rival clubs. A squad of 16 will ensure healthy competition for places. Over the summer the team started the tournament season in dismal form, but finished in style claiming the scalps of teams from higher divisions while developing a fantastic team spirit. We have much cause for optimism as this is by far the strongest squad this team has assembled to date.

The Team Management
|
|
Adam Capper (Mgr)
Adam is known for being rather loud, and not being afraid to tell a player when he has just made a major mistake (which due to our playing style normally leads to an opposition goal!) However he does counter balance things by heaping lovely warm praise when the player then does something excellent (which normally leads to the team scoring a goal ……. You know the rest!) Adam is a football nut, mad mad Chelsea Fan but his number one club is Larkfield. He is currently involved with 3 different Larkfield teams.

Rob Whenman (Coach)
Rob and Adam have been a double act since day one. Interestingly after all these years Rob still cant quite tell the time on a Sunday morning and is known for occasionally turning up a tad late. Adam is always very kind and generous to Rob about this so no worries!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rob is the quieter of the two and generally is very laid back. However him calling a particular referee a blonde poof many moons ago does indicate that occasionally his feathers are ruffled. Rob is the ultimate entertainer, give him a microphone at a Christmas Party and you would think Robbie Williams was in the room. A keen Liverpool fan it is no wonder he has to keep smiling.

Carol Chappell (Secretary)

Think you can escape without paying - forget it! The silent assassin Carol will creep and fleece your of all your pocket change before you can see yet another goal being scored, or conceded, depending on which mood the team is in. Carol constantly bails out Adam when he makes late training cancellations and gets the fixtures wrong.

A little bit of History
This team were formed at under nine and was made up of players who were the victims of a change to the registration cut off date. Many had never played before, others either thought they were not good enough or didn't like other teams they were playing for, and some who joined just for the sheer heck of it!
The first few training sessions were very interesting, mad frustrating and no ball control, and that was just the manager and assistant manager.
The players were even worse! But gradually, during the first season, things got better and better; Who can forget our memorable cup quarter final golden goal victory over Bearsted; Stephen C stepped off the bench to score his first ever goal - we all went mad and a few tears came to a few eyes! Bearsted had beaten us easily every other time we had played them but this was to be our day.
In the following seasons we have always played attractive football and scored lots of goals, however just to keep the crowd entertained we concede them 'en mass' as well! Well it is supposed to be an entertaining game so why not make it a goal fest every week.
One of the most notable aspects of this team is that we have retained 10 of those original players. It's great; We all have fun, there is never any moaning about who is substitute or to be substituted and everyone gets a game every week. The team is totally sporting to the opposition and collectively these really are a terrific bunch of boys. All that and they come training every week to!
Rob and myself look forward to being associated with this team for many years to come, who knows maybe some of them will play men's football for us one day. Anyone interested in joining us should email to capperadam@hotmail.com.
