The Team Management
|
|
Adam Capper (Mgr)
Adam has a multitude of experience in the management of youth and mens football teams. Following an approach from lots of young ex players who were all at that time out of the game he agreed to set up a new team and give these players the opportunity to play football again. Adam also believed that this would give younger players from Larkfield FC the chance to progress into mens football on a Saturday. Adam's football ethics are simple, he expects all teams he is involved in to be well prepared and play "proper" sporting football. To achieve this players are expected to train hard, and on a match day arrive early and behave like footballers of a good quality. Adam states "the current crop of players in this team have worked as hard in pre-season as any team I have ever had the pleasure to be involved with. All the new returning players have demonstrated real desire to play again, and in the right way. They have been complimented by a talented crop of youngsters from Larkfield FC youth

Shaun Holland (Coach)
Shaun and Adam are friends of old (they used to be a couple of tearaways so rumour has it). Shaun brings a wealth of experience to the team and has vast experience as a player including Chatham Town, Tonbridge Angels and several Kent league teams and has also coached mens football previously. After losing his desire for the game, Shaun accepted an invitation from Adam (over a pint) to come and watch the team play. Shaun was immediately hooked by the band of promising youngsters, whilst being entertained by the effervescent shouting of Adam! Shaun is incredibly enthusiastic and is a players coach as he leads the dressing room banter and bar chat after matches. He is a welcome addition to the off field team.

A little bit of History
The Larkfield Saturday mens team was formed for the 2008 / 2009 season and is currently competing in the Maidstone Saturday League Division 3. The team features several players from last years Larkfield under 18 teams (year 1 and year 2). The squad has also been bolstered by a number of players who have decided to return to football after several years abscence. In addition we have a couple of experienced players who have joined to be part of a well run team that plays football in the right way.
The ethos of the team is that, irrespective or the level we play, we will do things the right way. All players attend training and give 100% effort and this is reflected by the quality of football we play on a Saturday afternoon. Adam and Shaun insist that the team keeps the ball on the floor and that they play "proper" football irrespective of the quality of opposition.
The season has started well, and the quality and attitude of the team was rewarded when Adam picked up the league award of Manager of the Month for September. This award was a reflection of the players attitude and quality on the pitch, and the support staff elsewhere.
We thank Winston Sports for their generous gesture of sponsoring our team shirts for this season.
