The Setup

Larkfield Youth Under 14's 04~05 are part of the Larkfield Football Club which Incorporates Larkfield Boys, Larkfield Juniors, Larkfield Youth & Larkfield Girls.

We play in tournaments against other 'special needs' teams which have been in such places as Brighton and London and hosted by teams like 'Charlton Athletic', 'Brighton And Hove Albion' and 'Wimbledon' .

Larkfield Youth Juniors are a very lively, friendly team who have become good friends. A lot of the parents come and stay at the training sessions to give their support. They have an excellent manager who also gives up her time every week to run and support the team. As one of the supporting parents, I wish them all well and have confidence in their success. Keep on trying Larkfield and remember to have fun.

The Team Management

	Sue Sloane Sue has been managing this team which she started up with her husband Mo in 1999 under the guidance of Ian Greenland. Sue as the manager, is the one who does all the chatting and arranges all the fixtures. Sue is a south londoner; Sue is a Charlton supporter ! !
	Mo Sloane Mo is the coach. He has a level 1 coaching certificate and is also our first aider. He is the one who does all the hard work with the team on the training pitch. Thanks mainly to his son Tom, he has become a loyal Westham supporter. (under the same roof as a Charlton supporter? ooooh!)
	Mandy Painter Mandy is our team's treasurer and she is responsible for looking after the financial side of things. Mandy keeps Sue under control and stops her from spending too much!

A Bit More History

The team was formed in 1999 because a couple called Moe and Sue Sloane had 3 sons, they were called Josh, Ollie and Tom.

Tom and Ollie were becoming upset as Josh played for a Larkfield league side and he kept coming home with trophies.

Ollie and Tom wanted the chance to play football, so Moe and Sue formed,(with the guidance of the late Ian Greenland), a team that was especially for boys and girls with special needs/learning difficulties so as to give them the chance to play football. The team found that it generated a lot of interest in the Larkfield and Ditton area and more players soon joined.

Thanks to the parents

A bit about some of the 'other' important people…. The parents; without whom our team would find it difficult to get to their fixtures. Thanks to them, our team has games at Feltham, Brighton, Erith Horsham and v.i. training at Charlton Athletic and Arsenal.

Feltham Community College tournament.

On Sunday 14th March 2004 the Larkfield Youth Under 14s became runners-up at the Feltham Community College tournament. An Excellent achievement! Congratulations to all!

Squad profiles

MATT W

This lad is a fantastic out and out striker and can score goals from all angles. He has the skills of a premiership striker at times! Unfortunely though he supports Chelsea.

JAKE

This lad is a tall and quick defensive midfielder who works his socks off and has great passing ability and makes good tackles!

LIAM

This lad is one of our youngest players and is committed and loyal. This lad is a strong defender who has good passing ablity and a powerful kick!

KAVAN

This lad is the twinkle toes of the team, he is a good striker who works hard and scores plenty of goals. He is also good at moving out wide and getting crosses in and he can play in defence as well if needed. The only thing that this lad does to let us down is by being a Millwall supporter!

KANE

This lad is an attacking midfield player who can score plenty of goals and has brilliant ability when on the ball.

PATRICK

This lad is very committed, determined and willing to give his all. He is a very reliable goalkeeper who is not scared of the ball and doesn't let us down apart from supporting Man United!

SCOTT

This lad works his socks off in midfield, he is more of an attacking player who supports the strikers really well but also does his fair share of defending. The only bad thing I can say about this lad is that he is a spurs fan.

TAYLOR

This lad plays as a striker and he has got a good right foot! If you give this lad the ball in the penalty area then 9 times out of 10 he will bury it!!!! He also works his socks off to get the ball.

LAURA

This is the only girl in the junior team, she is a determined, hard working midfielder who links up well with Scott and she will score you lots of goals from midfield. When you give this girl the ball she will get it up to the strikers quickly!

JEROME

This lad is capable of playing in midfield or as a defender, he has a powerful right foot and can score you a decent amount of goals!

ALEX

This lad is a solid defender who makes good tackles and wins the ball well, he does occasionally try to get forward from defence which causes problems to the opposition.

IAN P

This lad works hard for the team and is another one of our reliable defenders who, like Alex, wins plenty of tackles.

CHRIS K

This lad is a fantastic defender, he is very strong and reliable! He is also a Liverpool supporter which sets a bad example to the rest of the team!

MATT K

This lad is a great defender because he times his runs to come out and make a tackle to perfection, I don't know how he does it!

MAX

This lad prefers to play in goal but at times he is called upon to play out on pitch and he plays brilliantly as an attacking midfielder who got forward to support the strikers constantly! Like Chris K, this lad is a Liverpool supporter which is a habit we are trying to get him to break!

On Sunday 17th July 2005 we played in an all day tournament at Feltham Comminty College and we got to the final and drew 1-1 thanks to a goal from Laura M but we didn't have to face the dreded penalties because they decided that we came joint first, WELL DONE LARKFIELD YOUTH JUNIORS!!!!
